Frequently Asked Questions

Cheerleading combines stunting, gymnastics, dance and jumps to deliver an explosive performance.  Our competitive squads compete regionally and nationally, typically three or four competitions a season.

Whilst Basingstoke Wolverines are always on the look out for experienced athletes in gymnastics and cheer, we also welcome complete beginners.  Our qualified coaching team will teach all our stunts from scratch so there is no need to have previous experience.  Please click here to book your free taster session.

Yes practice is compulsory.  If an athlete doesn't turn up to training it affects the rest of the squads training session and stunts cannot be practiced safely and effectively.

Cheerleading requires strong commitment and turning up to practice on a regular basis.  It really affects the rest of the squad and means that stunt groups are unable to practice certain stunts and help the squad achieve their maximum ability.

Like any sport, cheerleading does involve subs which will be paid on a monthly basis to cover hall hire, coaching staff and insurance.  As a new member to the Basingstoke Wolverines, you will also be required to buy a full competition uniform from the club and purchase your own white trainers.  In addition you will be required to pay competition entry fees.  As a non for profit organisation we aim to keep our cost's as low as possible.

All our coaches and staff are fully qualified, DBS checked, first aid trained, insured and safeguarding trained.  We take the welfare of all our athletes seriously - click here to view our club policy documents
